On July 28, while Indonesian President Joko Widodo attended the opening ceremony of the 31st summer edition of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, Chairman Cai Jianyong, as one of the representatives of Chinese entrepreneurs, was received by President Joko Widodo.

In his speech, Chairman Cai Jianyong briefed President Joko Widodo on the investment projects of Lygend Resources Technology Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lygend") in Indonesia, environmental protection, and the progress and achievements of Lygend's localized operations in Indonesia, and convinced President Joko Widodo of Lygend's resolve to intensify its efforts in Indonesia, better match China's technologies with Indonesia's premium resources, and promote the economic connectivity of both countries and seek happiness for both peoples.

The high-pressure acid leaching and RKEF projects of nickel laterites jointly invested and constructed by Lygend and its Indonesian partners on Indonesia's OBI Island use industry-leading high-pressure acid leaching and RKEF smelting processes, respectively, with a total annual design capacity of 400,000 tons of nickel metal. With respect to the high-pressure acid leaching project, three production lines and a nickel sulfate production line have been put into operation; with respect to the RKEF project, eight production lines have been put into operation.
Lygend is the first in Indonesia to put into operation the high-pressure acid leaching project and the supporting nickel sulfate production line, which produce nickel-cobalt compound intermediates and battery-grade nickel sulfate needed as raw materials for new energy vehicle (NEV) batteries, contributing to the high-quality development of the NEV industry.
